(Pays d'Hérault) Collines de la Moure is an Indication d’Origine Protegée designation located between Montpellier and Mèze in the Hérault department. It has existed under its current name since 2009.
La Moure (Lo Morrau in the Occitan language) is an ancient shoreline of the Mediterranean, now a little further inland. It is bordered by gentle hills. At its southwest end, near Mèze, the viticultural zone borders the Étang de Thau and the AOP zone for Picpoul de Pinet.
The production zone includes 30 communes. Two of these have their own appellations for the Muscat variety; Mireval and Frontignan. The IGP wines are made using a range of Mediterranean grape varieties. Prominent among these are Grenache, Syrah, Carignane and Cinsaut. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot are also grown. Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat and Vermentino (Rolle) produce ripe, aromatic white wines.
