Overview of the Wine
Guarachi Wine Partners became one of the first importers of Chilean and Argentine wines and has grown exponentially to represent wines from around the world. It is now the second largest importer of South American wines and in 2010 was honored as Importer of the Year by Wine Enthusiast Magazine's prestigious Wine Star Awards. In 2007, after 22 years of serving as the founder and president of GWP, Alex Guarachi poured his passion for building wine brands into his own high end & boutique label, Guarachi Family Wines, with well-crafted and limited bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley and Pinot Noir from the Sonoma Coast. It has since expanded with the acquisition of prestigious estate vineyards, such as Meadowrock in the Atlas Peak appellation of Napa Valley and Sun Chase overlooking Gap’s Crown in the Sonoma Coast Petaluma Wind Gap.

Winemaker's Tasting Notes
Blackcurrant, clove, chocolate and black-tea aromas. Medium-bodied with sleek, fine-grained tannins. Fresh and flavorful with an earthy, mineral touch. Due to the exposure, rocky soils, and wind, Meadowrock maintains hygiene in wet, cold vintages. We only harvest what is ripe. In difficult years we go through the blocks up to four times during the season, selecting and harvesting just-ripe clusters. All of our fruit goes through sorting belts, where we sort cluster and berries. We ferment is small t-bins with an objective to extract the most without compromising the quality and the style. We then age the wine in French-oak barrels for up to 20 months.
97 Ponts - Tasting Panel
Perfumed with night-blooming jasmine, sandalwood and blackberry, this youthful red shows exciting potential for aging beautifully. A bouquet of heather, violets and lilcas is invigorated by minerality from the red-rock volcanic soil and a dusty mouthfeel. This elegant wine shows the intensity of mountain fruit without the overbearing density as Old World acidity and ‘Old Napa’ structure come into play. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for up to 22 months
93 Points - Wine Enthusiast
After 20 months in French oak, this wine remains youthful and tightly wound, showing notes of dark chocolate, tobacco leaf, cigar and blueberry cobbler. Firm, prominent tannins and a mineral component of crushed rock give it length and added complexity. Enjoy from 2027–2032.
