Overview of the Wine
Don Maximiano Errazuriz founded Viña Errazuriz in 1870 in the Aconcagua Valley, north of Santiago. This valley has cool, rainy winters, hot, dry summers and moist Pacific Ocean breezes--ideal for growing grapes. Don Maximiano sent for the finest clones from France and with tenacity and perseverance transformed this barren land into a world-class vineyard. Today, the tradition of quality lives on with Don Maximiano's descendant, Eduardo Chadwick--the fifth generation of his family to be involved in the wine business. Eduardo has overseen the modernization of the winemaking technology at this historic estate while maintaining a distinct identity for its wines, dedicated to producing estate grown wines of superior quality.

Aconcagua Valley, ChileWinemaker's Tasting Notes
The Max Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon is bright red ruby in color and has an expressive nose showcasing fresh red fruit and a hint of mint, complemented by dried fruit and sweet spice. Velvety on the palate, this wine starts out friendly but firm, with fine tannins and flavors that reiterate the wine's aromatic profile of dominant fresh red and black fruit accompanied by hazelnuts and sweet spices.
92 Points - James Suckling
Attractive red cherries and red plums on offer here with a gently leafy edge, too. The palate has assertively juicy redcurrant flavors and a fresh, crunchy finish. Special 150th anniversary edition. Drink or hold.
90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The mild 2018 started with good water supply in Aconcagua, and the grapes used for the 2018 Max Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon from the inland part of the valley were balanced and healthy. Fermented in stainless steel, and the wine matured for 12 monts in French oak barrels, 30% of them new. This variety sees a longer elevage than others, so I caught the wine still unbottled. It's classical and balanced, with clean aromas and a tender mouthfeel with fine-grained tannins.
