Overview of the Wine
Domäne Wachau is deeply rooted in the Wachau region and manages 30 percent of the entire Wachau vineyard area (400 hectares), including half of Austria’s most iconic vineyard, Achleiten. Additional famous vineyards such as Kollmitz, Liebenberg and Tausend-Eimer-Berg are found on the Domäne Wachau’s vineyard map and make it the only winery in the Wachau with wines from all of the most prestigious sites in the region.
The winery is led by Master of Wine Roman Horvath, whose team works closely with growers, and has instituted a vineyard quality assurance program. This sustainable vineyard management program includes measures of quality cultivation and is customized according to specific vineyards and vintage.
Austria imposes very stringent wine laws, and the Wachau region goes beyond these with their quality categories of Steinfeder, Federspiel and Smaragd to assure uncompromising quality.
The Wachau, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, stretching from the banks of the Danube, benefits from the river’s role as a climate regulator. Many of the vineyards are very steep and terraced with very old, dry stone walls. The very best vineyards are vinified separately to produce single vineyard Gruner Veltliners and Rieslings.

Winemaker's Tasting Notes
This wine is crystal clear and straw-yellow with green highlights. Present and pronounced on the nose this wine displays stone fruit, delicate lime, and hints of ripe pear. On the palate there are flavors of juicy white peach and subtle hints of apricot. This wine is well balanced by a refined structure, very fresh, crisp and plush acidity.
Perfectly accompanies soups, poultry, prosciutto and a wide range of vegetable dishes.
91 Points - Wine Spectator
Aromatic, offering elderflower and pine notes, with hints of orange blossom honey, spearmint and apricot on the palate. This is elegant and focused, featuring a long, mineral-infused finish.
92 - Wine Enthusiast
The lovely, pure citrus hints suggested on the nose are fulfilled on the palate: aromatic tangerine peel and vivid, ripe Amalfi lemon. This has such lightness, ease and quintessential Wachau verve that you can't help going in for more. The finish is dry and irresistibly long.
