Overview of the Wine
Cvne, is situated in Rioja in the traditional neighborhood of the station, where the oldest wineries of Rioja Alta established themselves, for the main reason of transporting their goods to the port of Bilbao.
In 1879, two brothers decided to set up a business in the recently flourishing trade of the wine business. C.V.N.E., Compañía Vinicola del Norte de España (The Northern Spanish Wine Company) or la Cuné, as it is commonly known in Haro, was created. This cellar still reflects the origins of the company and is kept in the traditional neighborhood of the Haro station.
The Cune winery in Haro, is made up of a group of buildings, mostly from the 19th century and arranged around a courtyard surrounded by pavilions for the purpose of wine production, aging, and bottling.

Winemaker's Tasting Notes
Medium intensity of maroon color. On the nose, one can find aromas of wild fruits, licorice together with vanillas, toffees and cocoa from the American oak barrels. Soft entrance in mouth with rounded tanins and a slightly acidic end which leads to a long and fruity aftertaste.
This wine is easy to drink, fresh and perfect for pairing with every type of dishes of the Mediterranean diet.
93 Points - James Suckling
Polished and transparent with blueberries and hints of mushrooms and dried flowers. Medium-to full-bodied, tight and focused. One for now or later. Always excellent.
92 Points - Wine & Spirits
This is the kind of brisk, savory red that sets Rioja apart, especially when you can catch it for $15 a bottle. Michael Kowalski of Miraval Berkshires in Lenox, Mass., described the savory mix of fruit as tart red cherry, celery leaf and pomegranate. You might also find a sweet earthy note of fruity black mushrooms, all of it coming together in a tense, floral red with more generosity than anyone has a right to expect at the price.
91 Points - Wine Spectator
This lively red combines depth with energy. Bright berry and cherry flavors mingle with notes of fresh herb, cocoa and toast, supported by light tannins and crisp acidity. Focused and harmonious. Tempranillo, Garnacha and Mazuelo.
90 Points - Vinous

Juicy and supple on the palate, offering lively red currant and bitter cherry flavors that turn sweeter on the back half. In an appealingly approachable style, delivering very good finishing energy, smooth tannin's and lingering red fruit notes. Drinking window: 2021 - 2026
