Cantina Tollo Mo Montepulciano D'Abruzzo DOP Riserva, Italy, 2014 (TRE BICCHIERI)
Overview of the Wine
"In this region, red means Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOP. Just one variety, grown in the region since the 1700s, producing a number of different wines united by an intense ruby color and the smell of ancient gardens."
"Our vineyards extend over an area of more than 3,000 hectares, from the coastal hills to the slopes of the Maiella, in a typically Mediterranean climate, which is temperate with notable temperature fluctuations (both throughout the year due to the presence of the Maiella massif, as well as during the day) which give optimal conditions for the build up of aromatic compounds, producing high quality grapes. Our production exclusively focuses on typical and indigenous grape varieties of the region, cultivated in the traditional method on pergolas, with a pursuit of experimentation both in the field and in the cellar."

Tasting Notes
Full-flavored with good length, complex and strong tannins. A reserve Montepulciano d’Abruzzo with intense fruit aromas, and notes of black cherry and forest fruits. Twenty-four months in oak casks and six months in the bottle for an ageing which improves with time.
91 Points - Wine Enthusiast
Aromas of coffee, dark chocolate and condensed black berries start off the brooding nose. The palate shows bright, thick-skinned cherry and berry flavors, with persistent acidity and a light mineral edge. The tannins are polished and extend nicely on the finish. - Alexander Peartree
