Overview of the Wine
BRYANT ESTATE reflects the vision of proprietors Don and Bettina Bryant. After purchasing land on Pritchard Hill nearly 30 years ago, Don replanted the estate with 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, employing modern viticulture practices and nurturing a team of local and international masters of their craft. His efforts quickly established one of California’s premier First Growth wines, the Bryant Family VineyardCabernet Sauvignon, now among Napa Valley’s most acclaimed labels. BRYANT ESTATE wines are currently harvested, blended and produced entirely by hand from grapes planted and grown on the original 13-acre estate, as well as on neighboring vineyards on Howell Mountain, Las Posadas and Madrona. The wines are also bottled, labeled, wrapped and packed by hand on the estate, then shipped directly to customers.
Donald L. Bryant, Jr., is driven by the pursuit excellence and realizing the full potential of his extraordinary Pritchard Hill estate. Investing in his passion for wine, the St. Louis businessman acquired the 13-acre vineyard overlooking Lake Hennessey in the late 1980s and replanted it with 100% Cabernet Sauvignon using modern viticulture practices.
The first vintage was released in 1992, and soon after Bryant Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon won critical acclaim and became internationally recognized as a world-class wine. Don Bryant’s goal is to celebrate the first-growth vineyard terroir while paying homage to the great winemaking traditions of Bordeaux.

97 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Deep garnet in color, the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon struts flamboyantly out of the glass with notions of crème de cassis, blackberry pie and plum preserves plus hints of cigar box, Chinese five spice, sautéed herbs, cast-iron pan and charcuterie. Full-bodied, rich, seductive and oh-so-decadent, it has a firm level of beautifully plush tannins and loads of exotic spice and savory layers, finishing long and mineral laced.
97 Points - James Suckling
Insane nose of pure cassis, minerals, and gorgeous flowers. This is stunning. Full and juicy, with amazing layers of fruit, from cassis to blueberries and hints of vanilla on the great finish.
96 Points - Wine Enthusiast
Rich and smooth in tannins, with some sharpness through the finish, this shows masses of ripe blackberries and dark chocolate. A bit of time in the glass reprises and accentuates the chocolaty richness. Despite its power, this is refined and high toned, a serious cellar candidate. Give it 10–15 years. Cellar Selection.
95 Points - Wine Spectator
A real beauty, exhibiting riveting aromatics that touch a range of dark berry, green olive and herb flavors, with cedar, mocha and espresso notes. Yet for all the size and density of this Cabernet, the tannins are fine and silky. Best from 2014 through 2030.
