Overview of the Wine
It has been named "one of the best and most sophisticated Greek white wines". It is certainly one of the wines that have placed Anatolikos Vineyards and Nikolaidis bros among the Top Greek Producers, and their wines in the most fine restaurant and private cellars. In a combination that tends to become the most popular in Greece, Assyrtiko and Malagouzia, two flagship Greek varieties meet once again in a somewhat unequal relationship (90% Assyrtiko - 10% Malagouzia). Assyrtiko adds the intensity, structure and charm. Malagouzia softens the blend and adds finesse. With indigenous yeast, wild fermentation and maturation for six months in French oak barrels and on its fine lees, things get very interesting.

(Natural, Organic)

Tasting Notes
On the nose Assyrtiko's minerality is coming out in front and complemented by a fantastically integrated oak that gives a creamy character on the palate. In the palate it has medium (+) body, dense structure and it is perfectly balanced, with the refreshing acidity balancing the fatty, buttery feel. Peach, orange, grapefruit, apricot, bergamot in perfect harmony with the character of the barrel Bottled without any additional sulfur. Medium bodied and intense, with great complexity and strong personality

94 points Ian Blackburn (2017)
Fruit concentration and aromatic penetration are to massive indicators of the quality here.  Dense richness in both the nose and mouth - amazing aromatics of stone fruit, citrus, with floral notes and some exotic marks like marmalade... but the finish here is so clean and rewarding...  This is a GREAT wine of GREECE and showcase of great potential. Optimal option to Chenin, Albarino, Pinot Gris... Chablis.

93 points Ian Blackburn (2018)

In 2018 the regional laws changed and the wine is now 100% Assyrtiko. If you have even been to Anatolikos, you know the wines are rich, dense, and of the highest quality. This Assyrtiko is particularly assertive (pun?)... built like a brick house - this wine is masculine and structure and absolutely full throttle.  There is evidence of lees and really chiseled character.  Color 14, Aromas 23, Body 24, Overall Impression 32 = 93 Points
