Overview of the Wine
Founded in 1974, Querciabella enjoys the acclaim of the world’s most discriminating critics and consumers for wines such as Camartina, Batàr, Palafreno and Querciabella Chianti Classico. In its uncompromising pursuit of quality, sustainability and authenticity, Querciabella has continually honed its approach to biodynamic viticulture for over a decade. With vineyards located throughout Tuscany’s Chianti Classico and Maremma areas, Querciabella exemplifies the mindful preservation of tradition through forward-thinking, albeit completely natural winemaking.
Querciabella’s Chianti Classico represents the pinnacle of high-altitude, perfectly exposed Sangiovese fruit. A beautiful balancing act of crisp, inviting acidity, pure varietal fruit flavor and character deriving from sourcing the grapes from top sites in three of the the denomination’s best sub-zones. A wine and food lovers’ delight.

At Querciabella, we stand firmly against the harming of animals, and abhor the cruelty and exploitation that are inherent in factory farming, but also in “organic” animal farming.

Winemakers' Tasting Notes
Querciabella Chianti Classico 2018 is a Sangiovese lover’s dream with a very classical, fruity and bright profile. Made with such refinement that all the fresh and tart berry flavours, spices, iron and tobacco aromas, earthy notes pop all at once, it makes you marvel at the truly noble nature of a grape traditionally very fickle and hard to please. The underlying soil tones play a central role in this wine’s personality; the firm structure is well-integrated with silky tannins wrap around a lifted core of fruit, typical of quality Sangiovese.
93 Points - Vinous
The 2018 Chianti Classico is classy, polished and exceptionally beautiful. Like so many wines in 2018, the Chianti Classico is aromatic and gracious in feel, more finesse than power. Silky tannins wrap around a core of bright Sangiovese fruit. From start to finish, the 2018 is all class.
91 Points - Decanter

This red shows some depth to the black cherry, black currant, iron and tobacco aromas and flavors. There is a hint of tar, and the firm structure is well-integrated. Drink now through 2032.
