Overview of the Wine
Locanda Estate is a shielded, hillside reinforced vineyard estate, tucked tightly into a 3 sided crevice, deep in the heart of the Sonoma Valley. Having its own unique micro-climate, it is ideally suited to produce our unique, low production, cellar worthy wines.

The westerly facing hillside estate is blessed with dark well drained alluvial soils ideally suited to produce rich and complex wines.

Our passion and dedication is to achieve the perfect fusion of traditional microfarming and cutting edge fermentation techniques starting in the vineyard and ending in the glass.

Winemaker's Tasting Notes
Deep garnet-purple colored, 100% Cabernet offers up a beautifully expressive nose of baking spice and delivers decadent notes of fresh  blackcurrants and warm plums, and chocolate-covered cherries with hints of lavender and fresh thyme. Full-bodied mouth, it offers firm, ripe and muscular tannins, with great freshness with a long elegant finish. Built to age 15+ years.

Georges III is a very sought after block that was being sold to Schrader for Old Sparky. There is so much going on in the nose of this wine; it also tells me that its best days are years ahead and I love how this effort is unfolding. Compact tender tannins line a juicy fruit expression that is only possible from exceptional fruit. Check all the typical Napa Cabernet boxes - but this wine goes so much deeper and resonates its qualities long after tasting. Color is 14/15, Aroma 24/25, Body 24/25 and Overall is 34/35 - Better in 2024 and ages until 2035 but enjoyable now.
