Overview of the Wine
Near-perfect harvest conditions capped another outstanding growing season at King Estate. Bud break came on April 22nd followed by bloom right on time in late June. Heat spiked in August but never broke the 100-degree mark. Cooler temperatures in September and October created ideal conditions to let the fruit hang and flavors intensify.
Grape / Blend
This wine delivers with fresh red fruit flavors, like raspberry and ripe strawberry. There are definitive Oregon flavors of mushroom, forest floor and earth. This is rich and well-built with oak and vanilla nuances attributed to aging in French oak. Enjoy now and through 2028.
Wine & Spirits - 89 Pinots and a Best Buy
All structure at the moment, this has plenty of potential. It starts out with a scent of rose petals and dried strawberries, then turns elegant, the wine’s dark fruit brought to a close with a pleasing bite of tannins.
Ian Blackburn - 91 Points
Absolutely gorgeous, and on point. This was our best selling wine all summer - and repeat orders show this is hitting the nail on the head. Defined, dense (enough) and rich (enough) to satisfy. Lovely - Balanced - Defined - and a solid value.
