Overview of the Wine
The famous writer Alexandre Dumas in his time adored the fine, fruity wines from the vineyards in and around Puligny-Montrachet, in the heart of Burgundy. Maintaining this reputation, we at Jomain Frères (brothers Philippe and Christophe and sister Catherine) persue viticulture and the production of red and white wines which are recognised worldwide. It is our passion, our love for wine, together with our best care and attention that result in wines of the highest quality.

Today, this know-how, combined with environmentally friendly cultivation and use of modern winery technology, ensure great Burgundy wines. The brand Jomain Frères offers you a wide choice of excellent red and white Burgundy wines made mainly from grapes from our own vineyards and, additionally, from purchased grapes, that we vinify and mature like our own.

All our wines are carefully produced, aged and bottled personally by us. We offer you wines of great character, which will titillate your palate. Of course nothing is as good as buying wine at the property with the opportunity to meet us, the winemakers, in person.

Many places in the Côte d'or area have kept this appellation. This might refer to a quarry, where the quarryman, called perrièr used to extract stones. The ground on which the grapes grow, is stony, chalky and clayey.

Tasting Notes
Our Puligny-Montrachet village is a dry, still white wine. It is of a bright gold colour with greenish highlights, becoming more intense with time.
This racy wine expresses a hint of honey and its aromas develop with maturity.
In the mouth, it is fine and elegant, slightly mineral with a good aromatic persistence.
Body and bouquet blend into a subtle harmony. It combines grace with a well-defined character and a remarkable concentration.

From Ian Blackburn

Love the Jomain style, very hands off winemaking, drilling with acidity and vineyard character... this is a smaller family-run operation that has a great reputation and they come in at a very good price considering the demand on Puligny. You will love it too!
