Overview of the Wine
Kaikenes are wild geese, native to Patagonia, that fly across the Andes between Chile and Argentina. In the same way, Montes, the Chilean winery, crossed the Andes to set up in Mendoza. Their vineyards are situated in the heart of Mendoza and further to the south in Valle de Uco, where many of the premium producers are now sourcing their fruit. The focus is primarily on Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon, a variety that has been somewhat forgotten as Malbec has surfed one wave of success after another in the past decade. As a result, there are many old vineyards in Mendoza that produce excellent fruit. Kaiken uses fruit from vineyards they own and/or vineyards they control.

Winemaker's Tasting Notes
The grapes are grown on young vines of virgin areas, 130 kilometres southwest of Mendoza, 1,250 metres above sea level. In order to show the joint values of the grapes and the landscape without any refraction, the most neutral processing method is carried out: the wines are fermented and aged in concrete tanks. The screw cap and the fairytale label with the funny wild goose do not prepare the consumer for what they’ll get – intense, precise, pure and natural wines that are rich in different notes, full of life and tempting details.

The charming nose of Norte brings blueberry, blackberry and graphite aromas, followed by a juicy, vibrant palate with ripe fruits and pronounced tannins.

Deep and dark wine that draws you in with the black fruit, wet earth and black truffle on the nose and palate. It’s full-bodied with very fine, polished tannins and just the right amount of smoky oak to provide texture and complexity to the aftertaste. Vegan. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
